Genre:

Genre is a loose set of criteria for a category of composition; the term is often used to categorise literature and speech, but is also used for any other form of art or utterance.

Genre: science-fiction/thriller

Emotional/audience response: scared, empathise, frustration

Main character: stupid, silly, naive, absent minded

Mise en scene:
- lighting: dark, gloomy, cold, damp, dull, shadows making the audience feeling lost, isolated, unknown, mystery.
- acting: little dialogue, slow/ short movement, unsure, shaky, tense muscles making the audience feel fear and sorry for his situation.
- props: machinery (mysterious machinery), chains, hat (shadow), cat (shadows-eye), skin.
- setting: old lab, strange, unknown location, creepy, shadows, rusty, unclean, mysterious.

Sound: heart beat, sharp sounds, clanging of chains, footsteps, running and dripping water, echo, cat, breathing, growling, alien screech.

Editing: cuts to create different view points or perspective.

Cinematography: slow camera speeds to create suspense, fast speed for the event. exposure

Genre: Comedy/ action/ western

Costumes: cowboys, weapons.

Sound: birds tweeting - time of day, sence of place

Props: horses, guns, clothing, knife, hats enhanced the comedy element

Setting: country, landscape paddock, timber shack

Lighting: natural, sunny, warm.

Editing: cuts, rhythm slow to fast.

Shot types: over the shoulder, wide, long, low.
